Roof Leak Repaired in Newport, Kentucky

In July of 2022, Stephanie of Newport, Kentucky, called us because she had a major roof leak affecting her bathroom. Our General Manager went out to inspect her home. His inspection found some shocking information about the previous work done to repair the roof on her bump out. 

The area was small. It was only an 8x2.5 section of the roof on the side of her house. The previous installer hadn't put an apron flashing behind the siding where it meets the house. He also found holes in the roof where a satellite used to be. When they installed the dish they drilled directly into the shingles and didn't seal the holes back up when the satellite was removed. Additionally, the siding that is around the window wasn't installed correctly.

We had a solution for all of the issues that caused her roof to leak. First, we stripped the roofing material from the bump out. We replaced the decking with brand-new plywood. We included an underlayment to help prevent future leaking. We added apron flashing and an aluminum drip edge. To match the shingles on the rest of her roof we used IKO Cambridge IR AR - Dual Black.
