After we stripped the existing roofing system down to the decking, we then had to install a full plywood overlay over it. The decking system had gaps everywhere, which needed to be fixed in order for us to be able to properly nail our shingles. You may also notice our blue decking tape, which helps us waterproof all the seams.

After overlaying the roof, we then went ahead and wrapped the system with our two underlayments. The white KRS Ice & Water Shield will help us waterproof all the most vulnerable parts of the roof. The tan synthetic felt underlayment then covers the roof everywhere else.
