These homeowners had a 20 year old roof, that was in much need of a replacement. The homeowners took us up on our 50 year "no-leak" warrantied roofing system, and they chose our biscayne colored IKO Dynasty shingles. For this roof replacement, we first started by stripping the roof down to the decking. We then replaced all the parts of the decking that were not up to code. After getting the framing right, we then installed our underlayment system. We used our KRS Sealoron Ice & Water shield and our KRS Velora synthetic underlayments to ensure the framing has strong protection from the elements. We then finished by installing the laminated shingles, sealing all the details, and making sure the flashes and edges were properly installed. We installed our KRS Sealoron Ice & Water shield up from all the edges and valleys of the roof. These areas on the roof are most susceptible to ice and water damage, and this adhesive underlayment will help us create a waterproof seal around the nails we installed over it for the shingles, (the glue backing wraps around the nails).
