We take pride in the roofs that we install and in the care that we show the home owners. That's why we get all the details right, because it makes a huge difference in the longevity of the roof. For example, the chimney seen here did not have any flashing before we came to replace the roof. We added flashing on the chimney because chimneys are a vulnerable spot for water intrusions, and this little detail may help this roof last a little longer. Although the new flashing may not be noticed initially, it will be appreciated when the roof outlasts others.
Our crews replaced the gutters and downspouts on this West Chester home. In addition to replacing their gutters, we also installed our gutter guard System.
A cricket should be installed if the width of the chimney is over 30 inches per the general consensus for building codes. Here you can see the chimney is around 38 inches wide, so we installed a cricket to divert the flow of water. We also replaced the full roof the Klaus roofing way by; replacing improper decking, installing weatherproof underlayments, installing high quality IKO shingles, installing the proper accessories for details, and eliminating all debris and trash.
This beautiful home was in need of a new roof, as the existing roof could no longer properly keep the elements away from the decking. We even replaced their shed in their backyard. The before photo is a close up that matches the back right section of the after photo. We used IKO Dynasty AR shingles in the shade of Granite Black.
This roof in Alexandria, KY, revealed to the homeowners that it needed to be replaced when leaks started to appear in the home's second-floor ceiling. One of our inspectors went out and gave a free estimate to replace the roof, and the homeowner liked how thorough the estimate was, so they accepted it. We started by stripping the existing roof down to the sheathing, and we replaced all the wood that wasn't up to code. We then taped the sheathing at all of the seams and installed our underlayment materials. The underlayments used were our KRS Ice & Water shield and our KRS Velora synthetic.
The Ice & Water shield was adhered to all the most vulnerable parts of the roof (all of the edges) because its gluey substance backing allows us to create a waterproof seal when we nail the shingles over it. We then installed IKO Dynasty AR shingles over the underlayments, which are class three rated against wind and hail damage. We then added all the final touches like flashing and sealing, and the transition was complete. The homeowner was very pleased with the process, and they noted how respectfully we treated their property.
